Abu Baqir al-Saadi was killed by an American march that targeted his car in the Al-Mashtal area, northeast of Baghdad, yesterday evening, Wednesday. The Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq confirmed the killing of one of its leaders.
The United States says that he is responsible for planning and carrying out attacks against American forces, including the attack that targeted an American base inside Jordanian territory, and left 3 American soldiers dead in addition to a number of wounded. The Iraqi factions vowed to respond to the assassination, and Abu Al-Wala' Al-wala'i, leader of the Sayyid Al-Shuhada Brigades, said they would avenge him.
