Water comes from the Xijiang River to nourish more than 32 million people in the Greater Bay Area. The 113.2-kilometer-long underground water tunnel runs through the core urban agglomeration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area.

The project will lay the water pipeline 40-60 meters underground, crossing a total of 4 high-speed railways, 8 subways, 12 highways, 16 rivers and lakes. There are 37 ultra-deep vertical working wells, and the permanent land acquisition is only 2,600 acres.
