The U.S. has imposed sanctions on Sudanese actors who are perpetuating violence.

The sanctions are in response to the failure of a ceasefire between the Sudanese military and the rebels. The U.N. Security Council has also called for an end to the violence in the north of the country. The international community has called for the end of the violence and the establishment of a peacekeeping force in the region. The United States and Saudi Arabia have agreed to extend the ceasefire for another five days.
