U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense William LaPlante said that the United States has launched full-scale production of the F-35A Lightning II fighter jets.

According to the publication, these fighters are already in production, however, for a formal transition to their full- scale production, stable control over the process, satisfactory performance and reliability are required. Previously, the newest F- 35 fighter jet produced by the U.S was officially certified to carry nuclear weapons. The Pentagon initially planned to approve full-sized production of F-34 four years ago.
