Israeli military frees two hostages and simultaneously attacks the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. More than a million refugees from other parts of the Palestinian territory are stranded in Rafah because of the Israeli attacks.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers in Gaza City presented an explosive discovery at the weekend: A 700-meter-long and 18-meter -deep Hamas tunnel. Twelve employees are suspected of being involved in Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7th. In response to the attack, countries such as Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Canada and New Zealand announced that they would temporarily stop their payments to the aid organization.
