The New York Stock Exchange was trading close to balance on Monday after the takeover of the troubled regional bank First Republic by JPMorgan. The Dow Jones index gained 0.18% while the Nasdaq gave up 0.05%.

The broader S&P 500 index was up0.12% around 14:15 GMT. The week promises to be busy with a monetary decision from the U.S. Federal Reserve. The European Central Bank (ECB), which meets on Thursday, is also expected to raise rates.
