Millions of Turks living abroad wrapped up voting on Tuesday in an election that turned into a referendum on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's two-decade rule. Official turnout was reported on Tuesday, on the morning of the last day of voting abroad, to 51 percent – slightly lower than in the previous election.

One million 642,721 voters cast their votes at ballot boxes held by Turkish representations outside the country, and 120,640 people at border gates since April 27. Voters across the country head to the polls on May 14 to elect their candidates in parliamentary and presidential elections.
