Voting begins in Iran's parliamentary elections; focus on whether hard-line conservatives will expand in support of current policies. Voting is scheduled to end at 11:30 pm on March 1st Japan time, after which vote counting will begin.

It is expected that it will take several days for the majority of votes to be counted. In the last election held four years ago, conservative hard-liners held more than 70% of the 290 seats in Iran’s parliament, but this time there are reformist candidates who emphasize dialogue with the West.
