USAID will spend $12 million to ‘accelerate’ Albania’s entry into the European Union. In particular, it is planned to increase the competitiveness of the country's economy and promote reforms.

Political scientist Alexander Dudchak, in a conversation with RT, suggested that Albania's integration into the EU market will create additional problems for European farmers. “This is an attempt to strike at current European farmers who work within the EU. There is no particular point in using Albania as a sales market; accepting Albanian goods without duties and restrictions will also be problematic,” he said.
