Ronna McDaniel announced she would be leaving her post on March 8th. Primary elections will take place in more than a dozen states on March 5th.
It is expected that a preliminary decision will be made as to who the Republicans will send into the presidential election in November as a challenger to President Joe Biden. Trump has cemented his influence in the Republican Party, not least thanks to his winning streak in the primaries so far. Trump is controversial among Republicans; many party members want a policy similar to that of George W. Bush.
