U.S. imposes sanctions on four companies affiliated with the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces.

The sanctions include visa restrictions for leaders from both sides and the regime of ousted President Omar al-Bashir. Analysts believe that Sudan has experience in dealing with US sanctions that lasted 30 years during the era of the former regime. The defense industry system was established in cooperation with China and Russia and will not be affected much by Washington's sanctions, they say. They predict that the measures will lead to an escalation in the coming days.
