US, UK, Australia security “AUKUS” considering cooperation with Japan in advanced technology field. U.S.
Secretary of Defense Austin issued a joint statement with the defense ministers of the United Kingdom and Australia. AUKUS consists of two pillars: the first pillar is the deployment of nuclear submarines to Australia, and the second pillar is advanced technology fields such as AI (artificial intelligence) and joint development of hypersonic missiles. The Biden administration in the United States has taken a positive stance toward the participation of allies and friendly countries, including Japan.
