A computer problem affecting the automated passport control system created significant delays for travellers arriving at UK airports on Saturday 27 May. Many travelers complained of having to wait several hours before being able to pass through immigration controls.

London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports have cited a national problem affecting British border police's "e-gates", which allow automated checks. Long queues were also reported on Saturday in the morning to board cross-Channel ferries at the port of Dover, in south-east England, due to a computer problem at passport control at the French border.
