UN Security Council meets on US air strikes in Syria and Iraq. Concerns about a conflagration in the Middle East have increased again with US retaliatory strikes on militias in Iraq and Syria.

Now the UN Security Council is supposed to discuss the situation - at Russia's request. The meeting in New York will start at 4 p.m. local time (10 p.M. CET) and will address US retaliated attacks against Iranian-backed groups. Washington accuses these groups of a deadly attack on US soldiers stationed in Jordan.
