After its adoption, the representative of Palestine expressed his gratitude for the adoption of the resolution, but said, 'I cannot understand the position of the countries that voted against the resolution or those that abstained' The draft resolution calls for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the lifting of Israel's blockade, and also calls on all member states to halt sales and transfers of arms and ammunition.
