Relations between Russia and the EU are either broken or limited in the political and economic spheres. Russia's permanent representative in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov called the restoration of relations counterproductive.
Earlier, an adviser to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Budapest is trying to convince the EU to return to diplomacy with Russia. According to the Hungarian politician, the current path either leads to the collapse of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to an escalation that will provoke a third world war. He stressed that it is important first of all to restore channels of communication with Moscow, and then begin a long diplomatic mission.
