U.S. launches unmanned lunar lander, aiming to become world's first private company to land.

If the company succeeds in landing on the moon, which is scheduled for this month, it will be the first time for a private company. This launch is attracting attention as a move to expand the commercial use of space. Last month Japan's JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) successfully landed an unmanned probe, but a different lunarLander launched by a private American company had to land due to problems with its propulsion system.
