Toyota is the best-selling car in the world for the fourth year in a row. The Japanese automaker announced a 7.2% jump in the group's global sales last year.
Volkswagen Group, the second-placed German competitor, announced earlier this month a 12% increase in deliveries last year to 9.2 million cars. Sales of original Toyota vehicles alone - which include those bearing the same name and the Lexus brand - reached a record high of 10.3 million cars in 2023.
