Thousands of people in the Kherson region are homeless after the dam disaster in Nova Kakhovka. Operation Aid is one of the organizations that is on the ground and with volunteer forces helps those in need.
Svatioslav Spatar is the field commander of Operation Aid in southern Ukraine. "The situation is difficult. People have lost everything. They only had time to bring passports and some money," he says. "Not everyone wants to be evacuated. It is mainly about pensioners who have difficulty climbing stairs"
