They throw 1,100 euros in banknotes from a balcony in the 'hallelujahs' of Ezcaray. The money has been distributed in 5, 10, 20 and 50 euro bills and in 1 and 2 euro coins, but dozens of kilos of candy, worth 300 euros.

This tradition is several centuries old, since it dates back to the time when the lords of the town would climb to the balcony of the church, where their shields are sculpted, and throw alms to the people.
