21-year-old Jack Teixeira is suspected of leaking Pentagon documents. Questions are now being raised about security classifications and who has access to which documents.
Experts both inside and outside the armed forces have for a long time pointed out the problem of classified intelligence information reaching a large number of employees in the military. The New York Times estimates that thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people have the same security classification as the arrested person. With it, they can see protected sites within the Pentagon and other intelligence agencies, but also daily intelligence briefings.
