Ukrainian forces continue to advance towards the outskirts of Bachmut. What started as spontaneous counterattacks may now be an attempt to encircle the city.
"They won't stop moving forward as long as possible," says volunteer Jonas von Matern. Ukrainian troops are currently pushing forward, aiming for the village of Klishchiivka and its heights, from which there is a view of the southern parts of BachMut. The goal of the counterattacks could be to cut off Russian forces north of the city and at the same time take control of an upland area south.
