The U.S. Embassy in Haiti announced: Arranging charter flights to evacuate overseas Chinese from Haiti.
The emergency charter flight is expected to take off from Cap-Haitien, Haiti's second largest city, as the main airport in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince remains closed. At present, the United States has not announced an evacuation date, and it is unclear how many Americans will be able to take this flight. The German ambassador to Haiti and some EU diplomats have also evacuated to Haiti's neighboring Dominican Republic.
