Sudanese army announced the success of the first phase of the plan to eliminate the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Omdurman, west of the capital, Khartoum. Military sources in the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that army forces coming from northern OMDurman met with Corps of Engineers forces that were under siege.
The sources added that this meeting provides broader opportunities for the Sudaned army to tighten its control over large parts of the city. There has been no comment yet from the Rapid support Forces on the Sudanes army’s statement, or any statements in this regard.
