Shubra is the name of one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Cairo. The establishment of the Shubra district dates back to the year 1808, when Muhammad Ali Pasha, the governor of Egypt, wanted to build his first palace far from Cairo.

Al-Fasiqiya Palace became famous by this name due to the presence of a large fountain in it, and it is considered the most beautiful palaces in Egypt at all after Al-Tahira Palace. The palace combined the European style in decoration with the spirit of Islamic architecture in planning.
