On May 22, 2021, the 2nd anniversary of the death of Academician Wu Mengchao. Family and colleagues came to his grave to remember him.

A video of his last moments was released to the public. The video shows him telling young doctors to save money for the sake of patients. He died at the age of just 5 years old. He performed more than 16,000 surgeries and treated more than 97,000 people. He was one of the founders of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
