Russian Foreign Ministry said that it had paid attention to the statements of British Deputy Defense Minister James Heappie. The Russian Foreign Ministry added that this situation is a reason for reflection for responsible politicians in Armenia.
Earlier, Hippie said that Great Britain recognizes Armenia’s decision to freeze membership in the CSTO and plans to provide support to Yerevan “in the face of threats of retaliatory measures emanating from Russia.” The Russian foreign ministry said that Hippie's revelations are a direct confirmation that the West is seeking to turn Armenia into an instrument of the line it is pursuing in the region.
