The Russian Foreign Ministry called on Canada to demolish all monuments to Ukrainian Nazis in the country. Earlier, in Oakville, Canada, a monument to soldiers of the Ukrainian CC Galicia division was demolished.
The mayor's office of the Canadian city of Oakville in the Canadian province of Ontario decided to justify the situation regarding the demolition of the monument to the Ukrainian SS division "Galicia", saying that it had nothing to do with the removal of the monuments. The demolition of a monument in Canada was “the first step towards eliminating the legacy of the Ukrainians Nazis in this country,” the ministry said.
