Russia does not exclude withdrawal from the Arctic Council if its activities do not correspond to the interests of the state, said Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Nikolai Korchunov. He noted that the body is now functioning at the lowest possible speed.

Norway is trying to resume the work of the council in full, but does not find support among others. Earlier, Moscow expressed concern about the fragmentation of international cooperation in the Arctic. It was also reported that the Russian side will take a set of measures, including preventive ones, in response to the strengthening of NATO’s military potential.
