The ruling coalition of the Riga City Council agreed with the initiative of the Kods Rīgai bloc to demolish the monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Riga. "Pushkin's days in Kronvalda Park are numbered," said Linda Ozola, Deputy Speaker of the City Council.

The bloc Kaspars Adijans is in favor of demolishing the monument by May 4 in order to "exclude any possibility of using it" for the celebration of May 9.
