Ukraine has completed a special pre-trial investigation and sent to the court an indictment against ten judges of the Constitutional Court of Russia. Russia's Investigative Committee said it would prosecute Ukrainian prosecutors and judges involved in the imposition of unlawful sentences against Russian deputies and senators.

In early October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the ratification of treaties and signed federal constitutional laws on the adoption of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia called for starting to prepare an international judicial body to bring Ukrainian war criminals to justice.
