Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called EU sanctions against Russia ineffective. He said that the sanctions had a very limited, ineffective impact on the Russian economy.

Among the reasons for the ineffectiveness of sanctions was the possibility of circumventing restrictions. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, previously said the 13th package of sanctions will be aimed at circumventing EU sanctions. The Financial Times wrote that the new package of European Union sanctions was blocked by Hungary.
