The Paris Stock Exchange closed up 0.11% on Tuesday, after a session without major movements for lack of major economic news. The flagship CAC 40 index gained 8.09 points to finish at 7,209.00 points.

In Germany, orders to German industry continued to decline in April (-0.4%), after a record fall in March, fuelling fears of a deeper recession in Europe's largest economy. In Paris, Sanofi gained 2.47% to 62.12 euros, Biomérieux 3.06% to 95.90 euros.
