Opponents say he is exercising power in a "unilateral and absurd" way. France is one of the European countries with the lowest retirement age of 62. It is not the same as the UK, which has the highest retirement age, at 67, according to a recent study. The study was published in the journal of the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
