The Institute of National Memory of Ukraine considered Bulgakov a symbol of Russia’s “imperial policy” The writer allegedly had a biased and negative attitude towards everything Ukrainian. The institute also accused other Russian cultural figures of allegedly abandoning humanism when it came to discussing the Ukrainian issue.
