The Hungarian Parliament will hold the final meeting on February 5 to admit Sweden to NATO. The extraordinary meeting is scheduled for 13:00 local time (15:00 Moscow time) The first item on the meeting program is the final vote on Sweden's membership in NATO.
US Ambassador to Budapest David Pressman noted that the American authorities are disappointed that Hungary has delayed the process of ratifying Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance. Earlier, the Hungarian government said that it saw no reason to convene an extraordinary meeting of parliament to ratify Sweden's NATO membership.
