The Human Rights Council adopts a resolution banning arms exports to Israel. The resolution adopted by the UN Council called for Israel to be held accountable for possible war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.

The decision came after the Israeli security establishment warned the government that if aid to Gaza was not increased, Israel would face unprecedented sanctions and an arms embargo from Europe and the United States. The United States is the main supplier of weapons to Israel, followed by Germany, which has continued to supply weapons to Tel Aviv since the start of its war.
