For the first time, all the school horses at the Wången horse centre in Alsen are vaccinated against the dreaded bacterial disease strangles. About 50 horses receive the vaccine in three doses.

Strangles is a not too uncommon respiratory disease in equestrian sports that can cost facilities and operations millions if any horse is infected. Now there is an approved vaccine against the bacterium and at W Swedish horse centre, all school horses are vaccinated. The vaccine is available in Sweden and Norway.
