[HIGHLIGHTS] The Hong Kong SAR Government strongly condemns and opposes the U.S. Hong Kong Policy Act report and related statements by the U.S. Secretary of State

The Hong Kong SAR government expressed strong opposition to the U.S.’s so-called 2024 Hong Kong Policy Act report. A spokesman for the SAR government said that the United States has repeated its old tricks.

Interference in China's internal affairs and Hong Kong affairs violates international law and basic norms governing international relations, the spokesman said. The result will only be ugly and absolutely unacceptable. Will not succeed, he added. The SAR government resolutely safeguards national sovereignty, security and development interests, and fully and accurately implements the highest principle of "one country, two systems"
