Without telling her parents or her partner, in 2021, Sara García, molecular biologist from León, decided to apply for the offer to be an astronaut. She met all the requirements in her day to day: ability to solve problems and remain calm under pressure, flexibility and adaptability, teamwork, leadership, management of risk situations and basic knowledge of science.
"In my head it made perfect sense to introduce myself to astronaut because it is to advance knowledge to improve the lives of others with a little bit of adventure," she says.
