The girl is the first to be born in the town of Villanueva de Jiloca in 30 years. The town is one of the few in Spain with no children under the age of 15.
"We accept anyone who wants to come and live here, but what we really hope is that they bring youth," says the mayor of the town, who is also the mother of the child. The girl is now in the care of her parents, who are waiting for her to be released from hospital.
