The fifth meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee concluded in Beijing. Wang Huning, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the closing meeting and delivered a speech.

The closing meeting reviewed and approved the agenda (draft) and schedule of the second session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The meeting ratified the decision to revoke the qualifications of Wu Yansheng, Liu Shiquan, Wang Changqing and Wang Xiaojun as members of the National Committee.
