Member of the European Parliament from Lithuania Juozas Olekas proposed introducing a “war tax” on trade with Russia. In his opinion, the funds received can be used to restore Ukraine.

Olekas wrote about this in a letter to the European Commission, which RT reviewed. According to Olekas, the Russian budget annually receives about $200 billion from trade with Europe and the G7 countries. He said the tax could be gradually increased in order to “encourage Western companies to voluntarily reduce or completely stoptrade with Russia”
