MEP Leszek Miller asked the European Commission what other goods of inadequate quality can come to the European Union from Ukraine. Miller asked how the grain, "classified as technical", ended up in the EU among food products.

In March, Romanian MEP Maria Grapini noted that grain entering the EU from Ukraine does not meet European quality standards. In February, it became known that Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic asked the EU to reduce the supply of Ukrainian grain to their markets.
