The Government is examining the possibility of lowering the driving licence age from 18 to 16. This is good news for teenagers, but it worries professionals in the sector, while the mortality of young people on the road remains very high.
In 2022, 18-24-year-olds accounted for nearly 15% of road deaths in Germany. Today, to get your license, you have to do an average of 35 hours of driving lessons. The minimum duration of 20 hours of practical lessons in driving school could also be removed.
