The Centre Pompidou will close for five years for a complete renovation. The renovation and asbestos removal of all the facades, the fire safety, the energy optimization, should begin in early 2026.

Of the 140,000 works of art belonging to the museum today (10,000 in 1977 when it was created), about 3,000 are exhibited. The total closure of Beaubourg comes after a significant drop in attendance due to the health crisis related to Covid-19.
