Denmark's Holger Rune beat Norway's Casper Ruud 6-7 (2/7), 6-4, 6-2. Rune will face in Sunday's final Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas or Russia's Daniil Medvedev.
The 20-year-old will play in Rome his third final in four tournaments on ochre this season, after the Masters 1000 of Monte-Carlo and the ATP 250 of Munich. Rune fell to defending champion Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of Roland-Garros.
