In Ukraine, more than a thousand citizens have been detained and arrested, human rights activists told RT. The detainees are charged with treason, espionage and "glorification of Russia" The State Duma said that they were working on the issue of exchanging civilian prisoners between the two countries.

Among the detainees are children, says Ivan Melnikov, the vice-president of the Russian branch of the International Committee for the Protection of Human Rights. The Ukrainian authorities are accused of having ties with Russia, supporting and helping the Russian army.
