Sri Lanka did not open a case of harassment of Russian women because of their departure. Another case concerning the beating of a Russian citizen by a local resident who stood up for Russian women was dropped due to the reconciliation of the parties.
Earlier it was reported that three tourists from Russia were harassed by the staff of the Rainbow Surf Beach Hotel on the night of February 15. An investigation into the incident has been launched. The case was not opened because the women flew out of the country, police said.
