Syria's Assad regime has released a statement saying that an Israeli airstrike in northern Aleppo resulted in numerous casualties. The Israeli military has not disclosed its involvement, but there are reports that more than 30 people have been killed.

The airstrike also claimed to have targeted a weapons depot belonging to Hezbollah, a Shiite Islamic group in neighboring Lebanon that is allied with Hamas. In the north of Israel, clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah continue, and there are concerns that the fighting may spread.. At least 36 Syrian soldiers were killed, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
